A new understanding of warm and cool periods along with ice ages and interglacial periods.
Warm and Cool periods occur between ice ages but will have a different cause. With ice ages, the land mass of the northern hemisphere causes an imbalance.
With Warm and Cool Periods, these are dictated by what the north pacific and the north atlantic currents are doing. If they are speeding up then things are cooling down and things are heating up when those 2 currents are slowing
